4 Large Red Apples
2 Sheets of Puff Pastry
Fruit Preserve of Choice
Muffin Tin
Core apples and slice in half vertically. Slice them very thinly top to bottom so they are very rounded slices. Place in a bowl and microwave for 3 minutes. Roll out puff pastry to make it longer. Cut each sheet into six equal strips. Put a thin layer of preserves on the top half of a strip. Lay apple slices overlapping along the top of the preserves. Make sure the rounded tops are up far enough to create a rose. Fold the pastry up in half to sandwich the “petals” between the layers. Roll from one end and place in muffin tin.
Repeat. Makes 12
Bake at 375 for 40-45 min.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and/or cinnamon.
